Shortbread in the Highlands by Robin Jones Gunn

Proverbs 3:5–6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” I grew up reading Robin Jones Gunn, and her Christy Miller series.  Her books are one of the reasons I love and continue to read all types of Christian fiction.  If you love Karen Kingsbury and Tracie Peterson and have not read Robin Jones Gunn, you need to pick up her latest novel Shortbread in the Highlands.  In this third novel of her suitcase sisters series, this stand alone book is a delightful book that gives us a glimpse into what full surrender to our loving heavenly Father looks like.  It shows that if we open ourselves and hold our hands up and empty ourselves, our Great and Sovereign God has something beautiful planned for you.  He loves you and is calling you to step out in faith and trust in His plans for your life.  When this will happen, it might not look how you always pict...
