A Little Paris Christmas: A Delightfully Festive Holiday Escape By: Jennifer Shirk

"There is real beauty in the flaws and normalcy of family that maybe other people take for granted."  Sophia to Mason in 'A Little Paris Christmas'

Want a holiday rom-com sprinkled with a some Christmas magic?  Look no farther than Jennifer Shirk's newest release A Little Paris Christmas A Delightfully Festive Holiday Escape.   Set in the charming small town of Paris, Pennsylvania (a town that richly embraces it's French history and all things Christmas), this delightful story will invite readers in.  The characters will become like friends, and you will feel wrapped in a warm holiday hug.  From ice skating,  hot chocolate with whipped cream, and Festive holiday decor, readers will feel like they are in their own Winter wonderland (the perfect Hallmark Christmas movie).

Sophie Dubois, Chamber of Commerce Director, is all things Christmas.  From her life-sized Rudolph yard display to her two amazingly decorated trees cheerful, and extroverted she is the antithesis of Mason Haywood. Mason, a famous author of horror books, is introverted, dark, and brooding.  Throw in a mischievous dachshund named Gingersnap, and a delightful cast of secondary characters, and readers will be given special Christmas gift.  Jennifer Shirk, through the relationships between characters, and their story, will touch and impact reader's lives far beyond just the reading of this book and the Christmas season.

Sophie and Mason in their own ways, are each hiding and covering up painful memories from their past.  Sophie in all her Clark Griswald decorating, secretly longs for the family that she missed out on, being raised by her beloved maime.  She desperately wants to re-create the only time she felt like all the other kids and loved and accepted by her traveling parents - Christmas - the only time they came back home to Paris.  Mason, a Scrooge on the outside, is hiding behind the pain of losing his parents 12 years ago and his fiancee just one year ago.  He covers up this pain by ironically setting most of his horror novels around the Christmas season.  Little Gingersnap, in all his puppy playfulness and adorableness, brings these two neighbors together through his  delightfully humorous and mischievous escapades.  Together, can the three of them and the rest of The Chamber of Commerce bring some much needed tourism and business to their little resort town and save their jobs?

This is a delightful romantic comedy that Simba gives four paws, "The purrfect rom-com"; and begrudgingly fell in love with the adorable dachshund, Gingersnap.  This is the perfect book to cozy up with some hot chocolate (don't forget to add plenty of whipped cream) while sitting around that beautifully decorated Christmas tree.  A book that will remind us all, that what we can't always judge a person by what is on the outside.  People are hiding pains and secrets that we don't know anything about.  Sometimes it takes a dose of love, empathy, and maybe a little Christmas magic to bring out the best in a person.  As a Christ-follower it means even more to me as we get ready to approach this Advent Season and Emmanuel - God with us.  This book will make you laugh, maybe cry, and decide that you need to haul all those Christmas decorations out of storage and create your own Winter Wonderland.  Happy Reading!!

You can find this book at Amazon and it is available on your Kindle.
