A Heart Set Free By: Amy Clipston

"If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you
do not forgive others their trespasses, neighter will your Father forgive you your trespasses."  Matthew 6:14-15

Fans of Kathleen Fuller, Suzanne Woods Fischer, and Shelley Shephards Gray do not want to miss this cozy Amish romance/mystery by Amy Clipston.  I fell in love with Amy Clipston years ago, with her famous Kauffman Amish bakery series.  Clipston writes with depth, compassion, and brings her characters to life in the peaceful Amish country of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.   Learn a bit more about the Amish faith, and living the more simple life where faith, family, and community are central to life.  A place, where life looks a bit like the early church from Acts.

In A Heart Set Free, Renee Mast is surprised when she receives a registered letter from her late mammi's (Amish for grandma) lawyer.   Now, Renee must convince her mom and step father to allow her to go back to Pennsylvania after years of estrangement.  Why did her late Father suddenly pack up everything, leave friends and family behind and forbid his wife of ever discussing the reason?  Renee, feels called by God to head back to her roots and find answers to her past and re-connect with people they left behind.  Reluctantly, her mom agrees to give her from April-August to settle the estate.

Upon arrival Bird in Hand, Renee is reunited with her childhood playmates Jerome and Jeannie Graber (the twin children of her mother's best friend).  Jerome has his own demons to wrestle with as he faces the guilt of losing his beloved fiance in a  tragic buggy accident.  While Renee tries to solve the mystery of her past, and Jerome tries to move forward from his past and forgive himself;  Renee finds herself the victim of seriously escalating pranks.  Who is responsible for trying to scare her into leaving her inheritance?  Is it the realtor hoping to make a huge commission?  The strange neighbor across the street who gives Renee the creeps?  Or does it have to do with he family secret that devastated her late Father and created a family rift caused by a hardened and unforgiving heart?

Readers if you love clean romance fiction, Christian fiction, Amish fiction, or a good clean romance, you do not want to miss this great book by Amy Clipston.   Perfect for snuggling up with a nice cup of your favorite hot tea on that chilly fall afternoon, and getting lost in cozy little mystery.  Clipston experttly weaves Renee and Jermome's story together.  I especially loved how the theme of forgiveness is masterfully interwoven in the main plot along touching all the characters in some way.  Simba feels this is the perfect four paw book for all.  I am very thankful that I was allowed to read this book using my Kindle unlimited subscription.  Happy Reading!!
