Christmas at the Home Farm Vets by Suzanne Snow

"Sometimes, love deserves a second chance because real love never fails" (author unlnown)

For some the journey to happily ever after takes many twists and turns.   For some couples it is a matter of timing, and forgiveness others it might be a misunderstanding and a lack of communication.   In Christmas at the Home Farm Vets,  Erin and Oli found themselves together at Cambridge hoping to become veterinarians.   Erin grew up surrounded by her loving mother and grandparents who voted on her.  While rich in love,  money was always tight.  Oli, on the other hand, was sent away to boarding schools.  While his parents loved him, there was a lot of dysfunction.   These young people are drawn to each other their freshman year, and by the end appear to be ready for the plunge into dating.   Over the summer, Oli's vacation leads to a misunderstanding with Erin and they spend the rest of their college career avoiding each other.

Fast forward a few years and Erin has all se dreamed of:  a small English cottage in the Yorkshire Dells and a job at a vet practice combining farm work with companion animals.   She loves what she does and she feels content with her home and choices.  She agrees to host the locum vet (traveling vet) for the three weeks leading up to Christmas.   At the last minute a change in locum vets is needed, and enter Oli.  Oli has been practicing veterinary medicine the world over as a locum vet and finds himself face to face with the one girl he never forgot.

What follows is Oli and Erin learning to deal with their family of origin conflicts and hurts, along with working together in a busy country vet office.   Will they find their way back to each and learn to trust each other, giving love a second chance?

Readers will delight in Erin and Oli's story and experience the magic and warmth of the Christmas season.  Snow's vivid description of Christmas traditions has me counting down the days until my favorite time of year.  Be fore-warned after reading this sweet romance, you will want to stream that favorite Christmas movie (National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Christmas story, and White Christmas) to name a few along with that favorite Christmas beverage (Christmas blend coffee with peppermint mocha creamer is my personal favorite).

This was a sweet, sentimental romance that will stir up a longing for all those favorite holiday traditions with that special someone and your family.   Simba enthusiastically gives this novel three paws (due to some love scenes that a bit more explicit than necessary).   He also says Marnie, the sweet ginger tabby absolutely steals the show in this sweet Christmas romance.

A special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for advanced readers copy to read and review.  Look for this book to be available August 28, 2025.  Happy reading!!
